Miss Rodeo Ramona 2011

Miss Rodeo Ramona 2011 Sarah Baughman is a 17 year old junior at El
Capitan High School. She lives and works in Lakeside, CA. Her hobbies are barrel racing, raising steers for FFA, and learning to rope.

Sarah plans to attend Feather River College to obtain her breeder’s license and degree in animal husbandry so that she may pursue her dream of becoming a quarter horse breeder.

Sarah plans to continue her rodeo career throughout college as a part of the Feather River Rodeo Team. She loves the sport of rodeo because of the speed, excitement, and lifestyle. She also loves encouraging new rodeo fans to participate because it is so much fun they don’t know what they’re missing!

Sarah became Miss Rodeo Ramona 2011 in order to become more involved in the community of Ramona, provide a positive role model for young women and girls, and to promote her favorite sport. She will promote the Ramona Rodeo and hope to bring new fans to the sport while traveling across California during her reign.

Sarah would like to thank her sponsors Rock-N-River Ranch and Robinson Horsemanship. She would also like to thank the Ramona Outdoor Community Center for the opportunity to represent both the community of Ramona and its rodeo.

Miss Rodeo Ramona 2011 Sarah Baughman is a 17 year old high school junior from Lakeside, CA. She enjoys barrel racing, raising steers, and is currently learning to rope. Sarah loves the sport of rodeo because of the speed, excitement, and lifestyle. She plans to continue her rodeo career by competing at the collegiate level while studying to obtain a degree in animal husbandry.

Junior Miss Rodeo Ramona 2011

Junior Miss Rodeo Ramona 2011 Megan Buckley is a 16 year old junior at Ramona High School. Megan has grown up in Ramona and loves the small town atmosphere.

Megan has been riding horses since she was 4. Over the years her passion for horses has led her to compete in both the English Hunter/Jumper and Western Gymkhana disciplines.

She currently competes with the Ramona Santana Riders, where she earned the Division Championships for both the Triple A and Double A divisions in 2010. She also won the Class Championships for the Triple A Pole Bending, Double A Pole Bending, and the Double A Barrel Racing.

Megan has a wide variety of interests in addition to horses. She plays for the RHS Girls Varsity Basketball team, was historian for ASB, works with special needs classes at RHS, and has played the cello for 4 years.

Megan spends most of her summers competing in basketball tournaments, working at a local horse camp, helping at the high school special needs camp, and assisting young players in summer basketball clinics. Her hobbies are pleasure riding, working out, volunteering, and hanging out with her family and friends.

Megan maintains a 4.0 grade point average, and was named by the San Diego Union Tribune as one of the outstanding student athletes for the 2010-2011 school years. Her future plans are to attend either UC Santa Barbara or Arizona State University where she would like to major in the field of medicine.

Megan would like to thank her family for their support in all of her activities throughout the years. She is excited to represent her community and serve as a positive role model for young girls. She feels like a very blessed young lady. Junior Miss Rodeo Ramona 2011 Megan Buckley is a 16 year old honor student at Ramona High School. Megan has been riding horses since she was 4, and over the years her passion for horses has led her to successfully compete in many gymkhana competitions.

In addition to her interest in horses, Megan also plays on the Ramona High School Girls Varsity Basketball team, volunteers with special needs students, and assists in youth basketball clinics.
